 GENERAL MIDDLE SCHOOL NEWS

Virtue/Catholic Social Teaching of the Week: Fortitude

Dear God, give me courage,
for perhaps I lack it more than anything else.

I need courage before men against their threats
and against their seductions.

I need courage to bear unkindness,
mockery, contradiction.

I need courage to fight against the devil,
against terrors and troubles, temptations,
attractions, darkness and false lights,
against tears, depression, and above all fear.

I need Your help, dear God.

Strengthen me with Your love and Your grace.

Console me with Your blessed Presence
and grant me the courage to persevere
until I am with You forever in heaven.

Reconciliation  (this reminder will be in the newsletter for several weeks)

Fr. McNally will offer the sacrament of Reconciliation to our students ever Thursday morning before Mass from 7:30-8:30 am.  Two chairs will be outside the Atrium.  If a chair is empty, a student can have a seat.  If both seats are occupied, students are asked to check back in a few minutes.

  • Seventh Grade Responsibility: Hosting the Eighth Grade Graduation Reception

As tradition in St. Augustine Cathedral School, the seventh grade students and families host the eighth grade graduation reception. All families are expected to make a contribution to the cause in some way.  Please look for more information coming your way.  Mrs. Van Es is currently working on getting the details ready and will be reaching out for everyone's help.  And remember, next year when your children are graduating from eighth grade, they will be served by the seventh grade students and families.
